STAGES

STAGE 0 ( 29 June – 18 August 2009)

At this stage begins the execution of the combined humanitarian construction projects. Meanwhile continues the construction of the temporary facilities.

The following trainings are conducted:

  1. CLS training conducted by medical  instructors from the Land Forces units (3 -7 August 2009) and with military personnel in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan (10 - 21 August 2009)
  2. Medical seminar with the participation of doctors from the Land Forces units (18- 20 August 2009)

 

The conduction of a combined training and demonstration with the participation of Tennessee National Guard artillery unit and Bulgarian Land Forces battery are scheduled for 6 - 18 August 2009.

 

STAGE 1 (19 August - 22 October 2009)

 

Combined field training is scheduled for the period of 19 August – 22 October 2009.
Stryker Armored Cavalry Regiment mechanized units will participate in this training.
The Bulgarian units which will take part will be integrated in the U.S Stryker Battalion.

The combined field training includes:

  1. Tactics, trainings, techniques and procedures applied during operation “Enduring Freedom” in Afghanistan
  2. IED actions
  3. Entering and clearing (buildings and rooms)
  4. Live fire exercise at the end of each stage

 

Training and certification of MP units from Bulgarian “Military Police’ and 117-th MP Battalion from the Tennessee National Guard will be conducted between 7-18 September 2009.

A psychological test with the participants in the Exercise will be conducted by combined team of specialists between 22 - 24 September 2009. The purpose of this test is to improve the cooperation in multinational environment. The project is funded by NATO. Specialists from Military Academy "G. S. Rakovsky" will be part of the combined team.

 

STAGE 2 (22 – 28 October  2009)

This stage includes the closing ceremony if the combined Bulgarian-American exercise.
