Regional Development - General Information

The Ministry of Defence pursues active regional policy enabling our country to strengthen its position as a key factor in South-East Europe and the Black Sea Region, as well as uphold NATO’s strategic interest and responsibility for the security in the area. The effort is focused on adequate use and development of the potential of military cooperation with countries from South-East Europe and the Black Sea Region while avoiding duplication of efforts, and on applying the principles of effectiveness and efficiency.

The Ministry of Defence participates in the South-Eastern Europe Defence Ministerial (SEDM) Process, in the political consultations and activations of the Black Sea Naval Cooperation Task Group (BLACKSEAFOR), in the South Caucasus Moldova Clearing House Initiative, in the Annual Meetings of the Chiefs of Defence/General Staffs of the Balkan Countries.
